The Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce’s first-ever Sporting Clays Classic, presented by Cabela’s, was held at Gunsmoke Sporting Clays in Garfield on October 13. More than 100 shooters showed up to “golf with a shotgun” and network with other business professionals on the range. They were provided a continental breakfast, lunch, snacks, ammo, goodie bags and beverages.
The event featured a variety of shooting stations, with each station presenting a different challenge for shooters. Some clay pigeons were launched high into the air, some parallel to the machine, and some even bounced across the ground to test the shooters’ aim.
“This was a great event. The opportunity to build fellowship with your colleagues and other businesses in the area while having fun shooting clay pigeons is phenomenal,” Beall Barclay Financial Advisor Dale Brunk said. “We had a blast and we will definitely come back again next year. The venue was great and the setup was challenging yet easy enough for beginners to succeed.”
First-place team members received a Custom Engraved Collector Daisy BB Gun and $100 Cabela’s gift cards. Second-place and third-place teams received Cabela’s gift cards and members of the last place team received a pink Daisy BB Gun.
The winner of the morning flight was Rose Antique Mall & Flea Market. Preformed Line Products won the afternoon flight.
“Gunsmoke Sporting Clays is a beautiful place with great views, it’s really a perfect setting for this,” First National Bank of NWA’s Jason Hedden said. “The event was really fun the way it was set up, and for non-seasoned shooters it was not impossible to shoot.”
Proceeds from the event go toward economic development efforts of the Chamber. Special Thanks to ABC Supply for providing tents, tables and chairs.
